The Senior Activity Center has nominated Lillian Mathews and the Senior Creations Gift Shop volunteers as Someone Special volunteers.

Lillian Mathews is a retired elementary teacher and now volunteers as a hostess at the front desk of the Senior Activity Center. She has been volunteering for more than 20 years. She helps customers with questions, volunteers where she is needed and has dedicated many hours to good customer service. Mathews also helps with the Senior Center Gift Wrap Program at the Paul Bunyan Mall at Christmas time.

The Senior Creations Gift Shop Volunteers cashier, tidy up and keep displays orderly. When the Gift Shop has their Fall Craft Show in November, they all pitch in to help with set up, tear down and the bake sale. When one needs to be away, another will step in to help. The group includes: Carol Iverson, Carol Stevens, Lila Bruun, Marlys Sawyer, Donna Ehlers, Selma Jacobson, Laurel Gehlert, Rita Taylor, Kae Johnson, Joan Evenson, Diane Olson, Lucille Reid, Marilyn Gangeness and Marlene Miller. This group is hard-working, dependable, dedicated and greatly appreciated. The Senior Creations Gift Shop is located inside the Senior Activity Center.

Northwoods Caregivers has nominated Betty Hanson as a Someone Special volunteer.

Betty Hanson has a fun, youthful spirit that makes her plunge into helping out Northwoods Caregivers with their clients when they need transportation to things like shopping, medical appointments, banking, etc. Hanson makes herself available and covers many requests for Northwoods Caregivers. Thank you for your service to Northwoods Caregivers and the people they serve. Northwoods Caregivers provides services such as respite care, homemaking, caregiver coaching, and volunteer transportation to senior citizens and those with disabilities and their families.
