Someone Special Volunteers for 06/08/2014
The Bemidji Pioneer, Paul Bunyan Broadcasting, Ken K. Thompson and the United Way recognize “Someone Special Volunteers” who have made significant contributions to the community. Adult Day Services has nominated Brad Anderson and Max Brune as Someone Special volunteers.
Anderson and Brune have been involved with the 1st City River Duck Race, the biggest fundraising event for Adult Day Services, since 2006. The duck race proceeds are instrumental in the growth of Adult Day Services, which just finished a 4,800 square-foot expansion to accommodate community requests.
The expansion provides stimulating opportunities with the addition of space and quality equipment that exceeds participant desires.
Anderson’s and Brune’s efforts contributed to $15,000 in cash and prizes to Duck Race winners.
Adult Day Services provides socialization, structured activities, exercise, therapies and nurse consultation to promote life quality for our community members with aging challenges.
