SOFTBALL: More Bemidji State games rescheduled, moved
BEMIDJI – It’s starting to become old news.
Once again, weather has forced changes to the Bemidji State sports schedule.
The BSU softball team has, unsurprisingly, rescheduled more games for this weekend. The Beavers’ first 18 conference games have been rescheduled in some form.
The Beavers’ doubleheaders today at the Sioux Falls and Sunday at Southwest Minnesota State have been moved to Sunday and Monday, respectively.
All four games will be played at the Morningside Little League Complex in Sioux City, Iowa.
The games against Sioux Falls will begin at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. and the games against SMSU will start at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
BSU’s next scheduled series is at home Tuesday against St. Cloud State, but that twin bill is dependent on weather conditions in Bemidji. BSU also has home doubleheaders scheduled against Minnesota State Moorhead and Northern State next weekend.
Bemidji State, now 7-24 and 1-13 in NSIC play, will enter the weekend looking to snap a 12-game losing streak.
The Beavers were swept by Minnesota Duluth Thursday afternoon at the West St. Paul Regional Athletic Center.
The Bulldogs won the first game by a 12-0 score in five innings and shutout the Beavers again in the second game, 6-0.
The win gives UMD (29-9, 9-1) a season series sweep of BSU – the Bulldogs downed Bemdji State 13-2 on the opening weekend of play at the NSIC Crossover in St. Paul.
