The Lumberjacks took the opener 7-1. Today the Jacks (6-7) will host Fergus Falls at 4:30 p.m.. On Saturday BHS will head west again, stopping at Fargo North for a doubleheader starting at 12:30 p.m.

Bemidji took a 1-0 lead in the first inning of Thursday's first game and Jacks pitcher Monica Wittner never allowed Moorhead an opportunity to mount a comeback. Wittner allowed only three hits while striking out 11 and walking one.

Hanna Olson doubled in the BHS first and scored the only run the Lumberjacks would need on a passed ball. In the second inning Abby Hinrichs walked, pinch-runner Jenna Thompson stole second and Hanna Olson and Heather Olson each delivered RBI singles.

BHS scored two more in the fourth as Hinrichs singled, Annika Johnson bunted for a single and Hanna Olson ripped a 2-run single.

Bemidji iced the victory with two in the sixth as Hinrichs singled, Thompson pinch ran and scored when Heather Olson's fly ball was dropped, and Sylvia Grimm plated Olson with a single.

Hanna Olson had a double, two singles and three RBIs. Grimm and Hinrichs each contributed two singles.

Bemidji was the home team for the rematch and a walk to Sara Apel in the bottom of the fifth and two errors combined for two runs. Moorhead regained the edge with three in the sixth but BHS forced extra innings with solo runs in the sixth and seventh.

Singles by Grimm and Jordyn Follis and an error teamed for the sixth-inning tally and Heather Olson scored in the seventh courtesy of Grimm's double.

The Lumberjacks plated the game-winner in the ninth when Tori Koch walked, Hanna Olson singled, Heather Olson singled to load the bases and the Spuds pitcher uncorked a wild pitch.

Grimm paced the offense with a double and a single.
