Snowmobiler injured in crash with Jeep in Bagley

A snowmobiler who was riding in a ditch along U.S. Highway 2 in Bagley was injured Wednesday morning in a crash with a Jeep.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol out of Thief River Falls:

Justen J. Rasmussen, 17, of Bagley, was riding a 1996 Arctic Cat Jag Deluxe snowmobile in the north ditch. Randy J. Rue, 35, of Fosston, was driving south in a 1999 Jeep Cherokee.

Rue began pulling out of a private drive to Sorensen Motors when the snowmobile struck the right front of the Jeep.

Rasmussen was taken by ambulance to Clearwater County Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to a Fargo hospital with a possible head injury.

Rue, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.

The snowmobile sustained severe damage; the Jeep sustained minor damage.
