Snow possible today, cooler temps expected by weekend

Mild weather continues to hover over the Bemidji area this fall, but it may soon turn wet and cooler.

The National Weather Service says rain and snow showers are likely this afternoon. Winds from the west/northwest are expected between 14 and 17 mph, with gusts up to 24 mph.

Snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches is possible today.

On Wednesday, the winds are forecast to continue as highs are expected in the mid 20s.

Winds are expected to diminish Wednesday night into Thursday, which should bring sunny conditions and a high near 32.

The weather service said the weather should remain mild on Friday, with a high in the mid 30s, but there is a chance of snow into Saturday.

The lows for Saturday and Sunday could drop down to the low teens.
