Smith selected as Youth of the Year

Ivan Smith, 16, was selected as Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Club of the Bemidji Area.

He spoke about the club programs that are helping him achieve his goals to legislators, government officials and business leaders at a legislative breakfast April 7 in St. Paul.

Reps. John Persell, DFL-Bemidji, and Brita Sailer, DFL-Park Rapids, attended the annual breakfast that celebrates the thousands of youth Boys & Girls Clubs serve across Minnesota.
