"It was back-and-forth most of the way," said Lumberjacks coach Jeff Brown. "They would go up by three, then we would go up by five. But they made the last run and hit a couple of 3-pointers that hurt us."

Early in the contest Bemidji had opportunities to widen its lead but the Jacks were unable to take advantage of those chances.

"We had open looks and plenty of opportunities to make shots but we couldn't knock them down," Brown said.

Carey Woods had 15 points to lead Bemidji's offense while Cody Rutledge scored 12 and Zach Declusin eight.

The Lumberjacks, 7-6, continue their road swing Saturday when the head to Duluth Denfeld to face Duluth Central in a 2:30 p.m. game.

Sauk Rapids-Rice improved to 6-9.
