Ski hill operators say Oct. 7 is the earliest start on record. A chilly start to October created the right conditions for the hill in Taylors Falls to begin making snow.
Amy Frischmon tells KMSP-TV as soon as it dips below freezing they have a crew ready to turn on the snow-making guns.
Rebecca Selig is a Freeskiing World Championship 2009 winner. She was at Wild Mountain for a promotional event this weekend and says she was happy to hit the slopes so soon.
