Shirley Mae (Kitch) Vick, 82, of Bemidji, died on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at her home.
A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Cornerstone Church in Bemidji with the Rev. Jack High officiating.
Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home of Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.
She was born July 31, 1926, to William and Helen (Schoenfeld) Kitch in Hutcheson, Kan. She earned a degree in social work from the University of Oklahoma. She married Robert Henry Vick on August 10, 1949, at her parents' home in Oklahoma City, Okla. They moved to Big Spring, Texas, where she gave birth to her only daughter. She followed her husband and his career from Big Spring to Fort Worth, Texas. They retired in Bemidji in 1996. She was an avid organizer and club woman. She enjoyed being a mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Johanna Mary Newland of Bemidji, and a grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials to Alzheimer's Association.
