Sheri Annette Jones-Fisherman, 34
Sheri Annette Jones-Fisherman, whose Indian name is Awonogeshikoquay, which means Fog Day Woman, 34 of Redby, died Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008 at the Hennepin Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Redby Community Church with Paul Straubel officiating. A wake will begin at 10 a.m. today at the Redby Community Center and continue until the service. Burial will be in the Redby Community Cemetery. Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck is assisting the family with arrangements.
Honorary pallbearers will be Darilyn Jones, Janet Jones, Melissa Jones, Heather Stillday, Shannon Jones, Krista Fisherman, Keahna Wilson, Miranda Jones, Karyn Jones, Vicki Juarez, Nathanya Jones, Delores Huerta and alternates Billy Joe Brunette, and Connie Neadeau.
Active pallbearers will be Michael Jones, Courtney Fisherman, Mark Jones, Derrick Smith Sr., Alan Jones, Rodney Stillday Jr., Jason Jones, Vincent Wilson, Brian Jones and alternates, Paul Jones, Joel Jones and Cory Fisherman.
She was born March 17, 1974, to Charles Edward Fisherman Sr. and Darlene Marie Jones in Minneapolis. She was raised in Redby and attended schools in Red Lake and Portland, Ore. For many years, she was a homemaker until she received her Certified Nursing Assistant degree, and she then worked at the Jourdain Perpich Extended Care Facility for two years in Red Lake. She moved to Minneapolis four years ago and resided there until the time of her death. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her daughters. She liked to attend the casinos and bingo, listen to music, work with her computer, and spend time talking on her cell phone,
She is survived by her children, Nathanya Sherelle Jones, Miranda Lynn Jones, Keahna Marie Wilson and Czarena Lucilla Castaneda; sister, Krista Fisherman of Minneapolis; brothers, Courtney Fisherman, Cory Fisherman and Alan Jones, all of Redby; two nephews; four nieces; and numerous aunts, uncle, cousin and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Theodore and Pauline Jones, Frank Fisherman and Lillian Black; brother, Charles Fisherman Jr.; a nephew and numerous cousins, uncles and aunts.
