Sheila Mae Salmonson, 54, of Blackduck, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2009, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck with the Rev. Tom Reagan officiating. Burial of her cremated remains will be in the Squaw Lake Cemetery in Squaw Lake, Minn., in the spring.
She was born on Oct. 6, 1954, to Edward and Bernice (Oestreich) Kugler in Minneapolis. She attended schools in Squaw Lake and Blackduck. She worked for the Northern Pines Good Samaritan Center of Blackduck in housekeeping for 10 years. For more than 20 years, she worked at the Blackduck Liquor store and The Pond as a bartender. She was a member of the Blackduck American Legion Auxillary. She enjoyed tending to her flower garden, lawn mowing, being outside and having coffee with her neighbors.
She is survived by her sons, Scott (Jen) Salmonson of Kelliher and David (Teresa) Salmonson of Thief River Falls, Minn.; daughters, Jennifer (Dean) Olafson of Blackduck and Diana (Matt) Grife of Deer River, Minn.; sisters, Nancy (Doug) Bourquin of Deer River, Sue (Gary) Nelson of Max, Minn., Katie (Mike) Lex of Coon Rapids, Minn., and Kathy (Jerry) Futch of Shreveport, La.; step-mother, Ruby Kugler of Blackduck; 12 grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Albert Salmonson and a nephew.
