Shed destroyed by fire on Friday in Grant Valley Township

A structure fire reported Friday afternoon in Grant Valley Township caused about $24,000 worth of damage to the shed and its contents.

According to a press release from the Bemidji Fire Department:

A fire was reported at 3:42 p.m. Friday on the 9300 block of Beltrami Line Road Southwest. A 24-foot-by-24-foot shed was found to be totally engulfed in flames upon firefighter arrival. The fire also was threatening another large shed nearby.

Twelve firefighters responded with one fire engine and two tankers. They remained on scene about 75 minutes.

No one was injured.

The shed and its contents were totally destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, however, no foul play is suspected and it appears to be accidental in nature.

Assisting at the scene were the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Minnesota State Fire Marshal's Office and Bemidji Ambulance Service.
