Search underway in Cass County for missing 82-year-old man
Cass County Sheriff Randy Fish reported Saturday tha Peter Achermann, 82, of rural Staples is missing.
His car was located in a rural area northeast of Staples Saturday evening. Authorities conducted an extensive air and ground search Saturday in the area where the car was found. Searchers from Motley and Staples fire departments, along with Central Lakes Search and Rescue, community volunteers, divers from the Lakes Area Dive Team, law enforcement officers and posses members from Cass and Wadena counties and aircraft from the Minnesota State Patrol.
Achermann is described as a white man about 5-feet-9-inches tall, weighing 175 pounds and having a gray beard. He usually walks with a cane.
