Scrappy play leads the way

Jenna Sagedahl had 42 set assists and three Lumberjacks reached double figures in digs as the Bemidji volleyball team improved to 19-8 with a 19-25, 25-19, 26-24, 25-15 victory Monday at Dilworth-Glyndon Felton.

BHS will close its regular season 7 p.m. today at home against Lake of the Woods. The players' parents will also be saluted tonight.

"We gave the extra effort (Monday)," said Bemidji coach Theresa Colligan. "We covered everything with scrappy play. We never gave up on anything and that was fun to see."

Jess Yost was among the Jacks who gave a solid effort as she had 22 digs and 22 kills. Allie Heifort contributed 21 kills and Kellie Morehouse added 10.

Sagedahl finished with 19 digs and four blocks, Nicole McDonald 13 digs and Hanna Olson nine digs.

Blake Bardwell had five blocks and Jasmine Yerbich a pair of aces.
