Scott Poxleitner, 36, of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, N.D.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Kelliher, MN with Fr. Raul Perez-Cobo officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, May 10, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. with a 7 p.m. Prayer service at the church and one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Kelliher, Minnesota. Cease Family Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.
Active pallbearers will be Jonathon Michalek, Kyle Michalek, Brandon Klug, Brittany Geerdes, Rick Thayer and Aaron Poxleitner. Honorary pallbearers will be Everett and Sullivan Geerdes, Abel and Scarlet Michalek, great nephew and niece and all of Scotts cousins.
He was born July 25, 1976 in Crookston, MN to Vernon B. and Ruby Ann (Davidson) Poxleitner. Even though he attended school in both Blackduck and Kelliher, he grew up in Kelliher, graduating from high school there in 1995. For the past 15 years, Scott lived at Eaglesview Foster Home in Bemidji and was well cared for by the staff there.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, baseball, basketball, playing cards and farming. Scott also enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews and great-niece and nephews. He was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church in Kelliher.
He is survived by his mother, Ruby (Ray) Berthiaume of Blackduck; father, Vernon (Burnette) Poxleitner of Pierz; two sisters, Paula (Bob) Klug and Joely (Rick) Michalek, both of Blackduck and numerous nieces, nephews and great-niece and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harry and Vera Davidson; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Helen Poxleitner and aunts and uncles.
