Blackduck Menu Week of May 18-21 TUESDAY, May 18 - Chicken patty on a bun, oven fries, California medley with cheese, peaches, Rice Krispie treat, milk variety. WEDNESDAY, May 19 - Shrimp, mashed potatoes with butter, broccoli slaw, mandarin oranges, bread slice, milk variety. THURSDAY, May 20 - Taco in a bag, taco beef and Doritos, lettuce and cheese, corn, frozen juice bar, bread slice, milk variety. FRIDAY, May 21 - Cook's choice - chicken wrap with shell, lettuce and cheese, lettuce and cheese, oven fries, peas, pears, milk variety. Calendar of events Monday: JV baseball at home against Bagley; baseball in Laporte; softball at home against Bagley; boys and girls golf at the Legend and junior high boys golf in Walker. Tuesday: Boys and girls golf at Castle Highlands; track in Northome and softball in Indus. Wednesday: Junior high boys and girls golf at Greenwood. Thursday: Boys and girls golf at Longbow and softball in Laporte. Friday: Ninth-12th grade band and choir concert at 7 p.m. Community Ed Adult Basic Education is held Wednesdays at 4:45 p.m. at the Blackduck Resource Center. Wednesday Night Volleyball is held at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The fee is $3 per night. Kelliher Menu Week of May 17-21 MONDAY, May 17 - Soft shell tacos with the works, pudding, cookie, milk. TUESDAY, May 18 - Hot ham and cheese, tater tots, California blend vegetables, fruit, milk. WEDNESDAY, May 19 - Cook's choice. THURSDAY, May 20 - Chef salad with the works, cheesy French bread, fruit, milk. FRIDAY, May 21 - Chili, cheese slice, crackers, cinnamon roll, applesauce, milk. Head start screening Kelliher School, in cooperation with the Beltrami Nursing Service, Head Start and Learning Readiness, will be offering an Early Childhood screening May 18 at the Old School. This screening is for children who are 4 years of age prior to Jan. 1, 2010. Any child entering a Minnesota public school, before the age of 7, is mandated to have participated in some kind of Early Childhood screening or comparable screening from your doctor. You must provide proof of screening when you are registering for kindergarten. The screening takes about two hours and the following components are offered: vision, hearing, speech and developmental screenings, physical exam including lab tests if needed. Bingo! Come out and play some Bingo May 20 at 7 p.m. in the Kelliher School Commons. This event is being sponsored by Kelliher School SADD members and everyone is welcome. The cost is 25¢ per card per game and there will be a lot of fun prizes including four Twins tickets, four tickets to Nickelodeon Universe, four tickets to Moose Mountain Adventure Golf, a $35 certificate for a dessert tray, many great gift certificates and T-shirts. Community Ed Aerobics will be held Monday-Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the school gym. Bring a towel. Open gym is Sundays from 3-5 p.m. The cost is $1 per person or $5 per family. About Students Tanner Schuh of Kelliher was the publicity and marketing assistant and spotlight operator for the production of Man of La Mancha at Bemidji State University.
