Week of March 9-12

TUESDAY, March 9 - Chicken fajita meat with vegetables, soft shell taco, salsa, sour cream, lettuce and cheese, rosy applesauce, corn, bread slice, milk variety.

WEDNESDAY, March 10 - Pepperoni pizza, garden salad with cheese, ham and croutons, pears, frozen juice bar, bread slice, Ranch or French dressing, milk variety.

THURSDAY, March 11 - Chicken noodle soup, meat sandwich, saltines, broccoli slaw, carrot sticks, pineapple, milk variety.

FRIDAY, March 12 - Mini quesadillas with sour cream and salsa, green beans, mixed fruit, yogurt, bread slice, milk variety.

Scholarship info

The following scholarship information is available in the high school office:

• Blandin Foundation Education Awards: Anyone under the age of 25 as of Sept. 1 and plan on attending, any accredited educational institution in the United States. Deadline is May 1.

• Vernon J. Pick Foundation Scholarships: Seniors planning full-time college study in one of the general areas of sciences, mathematics, or engineering. Applicants have a GPA of at least 3.25 and a ACT score of 27 or higher. Deadline is March 30.

• Knights of Columbus: Senior Catholic Students. Deadline is April 1.

Kindergarten round-up

Blackduck School will have its spring kindergarten round-up and registration March 12 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in the Elementary School, room #10.

In order to enroll in kindergarten for the 2010-2011 school year, a child must be five years old by Sept. 1. Please bring a birth certificate to verify birth date.

Minnesota law requires a complete record of a child's immunizations to be on file at school before the child begins school. Please bring your child's immunization record with you when you come in for kindergarten round-up and registration.

Anyone with a child in this age group who will be attending Blackduck School next fall and did not receive the kindergarten round-up packet and letter, please call the elementary office at 835-5300 or bring your child to the kindergarten round-up March 12.

Community Ed

Ceramic Baskets will be held March 15 and 22 from 6:30 p.m. The fee is $15 payable to Community Ed and $15 payable to the instructor.

Beaded Rosettes will be held March 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the commons. The fee is $12.

Small Willow Basket Making will be held March 25 at 6:30 p.m. in the commons. The fee is $20.

Adult Basic Education is held Wednesdays at 4:45 p.m. at the Blackduck Resource Center.

Wednesday Night Volleyball is held at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The fee is $3 per night.

WEDNESDAY, March 10 - Hamburger gravy over mashed potatoes, corn, dinner roll, pineapple, milk.

THURSDAY, March 11 - Turkey noodle soup, crackers, cheese slice, peanut butter and jelly or egg salad sandwich, pears, milk.

FRIDAY, March 12 - Fish nuggets, curly fries, California blend vegetables, dinner roll, sherbet, milk.

Community Ed

Aerobics will be held Monday-Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the school gym. Bring a towel.

Open gym is Sundays from 3-5 p.m. The cost is $1 per person or $5 per family.
