TUESDAY, Jan. 26 - Chicken nuggets, mashed potatoes with gravy, peas, peaches, blueberry muffin, milk variety.

WEDNESDAY, Jan. 27 - Chicken noodle soup, meat sandwich, saltines, broccoli slaw with Craisins, mandarin oranges, milk variety.

THURSDAY, Jan. 28 - Mini corndogs, macaroni and cheese, ketchup and mustard, green beans, pineapple, bread slice, milk variety.

FRIDAY, Jan. 29 - Con quesos with salsa, fat free sour cream, California medley vegetables with cheese sauce, pears, frozen juice bar, bread slice, milk variety.

Scholarships available

Farm Credit Service Scholarship: Seniors who are from an actively farming or ranching family OR are planning to pursue an agricultural degree. Deadline is March 1.

KFC Colonel's Scholarship: Seniors with a GPA of 2.75 or higher and are pursuing a bachelors degree. Apply online at http://www.kfcsholars.org. Deadline is Feb. 10.

US Bank Internet Scholarship: Seniors attending an accredited two or four-year college next fall. Apply online at usbank.com/studentloans. Deadline is Feb. 28.

America Legion Auxiliary Department of Minnesota Scholarship: Seniors who are sons, daughters, grandsons, or granddaughters of a veteran. Deadline is March 15.

National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association: Seniors who have a minimum GPA of B+ average, participated in two sports for at least two years in each, and one varsity letter in each of two sports. Deadline is Feb. 28.

North Country Health Services Auxiliary Scholarship: Seniors pursuing a career in a health related field, and not have been a previous recipient. Deadline is March 15.

AXA Achievement Community Scholarship: Seniors who show ambition and drive, respect for self, family and community, and ability to succeed in college. Download an application at www.axa-achievement.com. Deadline is Feb. 15.

Important dates

Jan. 25: 6:30 p.m. -- Financial aid night at Blackduck High School in the computer lab.

Sports Calendar

Tuesday: Boys JV and varsity basketball at 6 and 7:30 p.m. at home against Laporte; girls varsity and JV at home against Laporte at 6 and 7:30 p.m. and junior high basketball at 5:30 p.m. in Bemidji.

Thursday: Girls JV and varsity basketball in Red Lake at 6 p.m. and girls junior high at 5:30 p.m. in Walker.

Saturday: Elementary wrestling tournament at home beginning at 10 a.m.

Community Ed

Adult Basic Education is held Wednesdays at 4:45 p.m. at the Blackduck Resource Center.

Wednesday Night Volleyball is held at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. The fee is $3 per night.

Minnesota Youth Trapping License Class starts Feb. 3 at the Beltrami County Fairgrounds. Call 835-5241 for all the details.

Community Ed

Aerobics will be held Monday-Wednesday from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the school gym. Bring a towel.

Open gym is Sundays from 3-5 p.m. The cost is $1 per person or $5 per family.

About Students

Melanie Peasley, daughter of Dale and Janette Peasley of Blackduck, was named to the fall dean's list at Northwestern College in St. Paul.

Peasley is pursuing a degree in Biology.

Tyler Stomberg of Blackduck, has been named to the dean's list at Alexandria Technical College.

He is currently working towards a Machine Tool Technology degree.
