New student registration

Blackduck Schools will be having new student registration day Aug. 18 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Parents are encouraged to register on Tuesday so students are ready to start school Sept. 8. Once the school year starts, there will be a 24 hour waiting period to complete the registration process.

Please call the school if you have any questions. For high school questions, call 835-5210 or 835-5300 for the elementary.

Activities meeting set

The mandatory activities meeting for all parents and 7-12 grade students will be held Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. in the high school gym.

This meeting is for any parent whose child plans on participating in any extracurricular event for the 2009-2010 school year. If you cannot attend this meeting, there will be a make-up meeting Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. in the high school gym. If you cannot attend any of these meetings you must contact Theresa Rabe at 835-5245 to set up an alternate date to meet.

Blackduck volleyball practice will begin for grades 9-12 Aug. 17 and will be from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The seventh and eighth grade teams will start Aug. 17 and practice will run from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

Blackduck football practice for grades 9-12 will begin Aug. 17 and will start at 6:30 am. The seventh and eighth grade teams will start Aug. 26, practice practice will be held at 9 a.m. and the locker room is open at 8:45 a,m.

Remember all seventh, 10th and new students need a physical on file in the high school office before practice begins.

Hannah Schuman of Hines, received the Community of Learners Scholarship from the University of North Dakota.

Schuman, daughter of Bruce and Debra Schuman, graduated from Blackduck High School and plans to attend UND in the fall.
