FRIDAY, March 23 - Cheese omelet, hashbrown potatoes, fresh oranges, blueberry muffin, frozen juice bar, bread slice, milk variety.

Community Ed

Wednesday Night Volleyball will be held from 7-9 p.m. in the high school gym. This is for anyone age 16 and up and the fee is $3 per night.

Kindergarten Roundup

The Blackduck School will be having their Spring Kindergarten Round-up and Registration March 23 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. in the elementary school, room 10.

In order to enroll in kindergarten for the 2012/2013 school year, a child must be five years old by Sept. 1, 2012. Please bring in a birth certificate to verify the date.

Minnesota law requires a complete record of a child's immunizations to be on file at school before the child begins school. Please bring your child's immunization record with you when you come in for Kindergarten Round-up and Registration.

Minnesota law also requires each child entering Kindergarten to have a developmental screening completed before starting kindergarten. If your child has not been screened or if you are unsure, call the number listed below to set up a time during Kindergarten Round-up. An extra hour will be needed to do the screening.

Anyone with a child in this age group who will be attending Blackduck School next fall and did not receive the Kindergarten Round-up letter, please call the elementary office at 835-5300 or bring your child to the Kindergarten Round-up March 23.

Drakes bring home another trophy

The Drakes Speech team only took about half the team to the tournament in Eveleth Gilbert March 10 and still managed to come in third place out of 17 teams, losing only to two double-A schools.

Blackduck had one Champion -- Matthew Jedlicka in Drama. Second place medalist was Tyler Dobmeier in Great Speeches. Earning third place medals were Madison Stelton in Creative Expression; Emily Biberg in Humor and Katie O'Rourke in Prose.

Fourth place went Madison Stomberg in Creative Expression; Julia Bogucki (bo-GOOT-ski) in Drama and Tanner Templin in Great Speeches; Brittany Martin was also a finalist in Original Oratory.

Honorable Mention awards went to Jenna Nestberg in Humor and Shalynne Bogucki in Poetry. Congratulations!Scholarships available

Scholarships available in the high school office:

Debbie & Janet Foundation Scholarship: Seniors graduating from Blackduck High School. Deadline is May 4.

James J. Wychor Scholarship: Seniors who desire to seek an eventual career in electronic media or broadcasting. Deadline is June 30.

Mike Staples Memorial Scholarship: Seniors pursuing post-secondary education in natural resource areas or criminal justice area, or other related careers. Deadline is April 13.
