WEDNESDAY, April 13 - Chicken fajitas with tortillas, fajita vegetables, lettuce, cheese, salsa and sour cream, corn, mandarin, bread slice, milk variety.

THURSDAY, April 14 - Hamburger, garlic toast, broccoli slaw, peaches, bread slice, milk variety.

FRIDAY, April 15 - Cheese pizza, garden salad with cheese and croutons, rosy applesauce, yogurt, granola bar, milk variety.

Scholarship information

Scholarships available in the high school office:

Betty Parker Scholarship for the Performing Arts: Seniors who have been a theatrical performer while at Blackduck High School and shown a capacity of leadership. Deadline is April 15.

The Lutheran Community Foundation and The Evelyn W. Berg Fund Scholarship: Seniors planning on attending a post-secondary education and a GPA of 3.5 or above. Deadline is April 22.

•Dollars for Scholars: Blackduck High School seniors who have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and are involved in extracurriculars. Deadline is April 28 by 4:30 p.m.

•Blackduck American Legion Auxiliary Unit #372 Community Service Scholarship: Seniors who have completed community service in the Blackduck Community. Deadline is April 13.

Northwest Minnesota Women's Fund Scholarship: Female seniors who plan on attending and education institution in the region and have a minimum "C" gpa. Deadline is May 1.

Sports Calendar

Monday: Junior high and varsity softball in either Bagley or Fosston at 3:30 at 5 p.m.

Tuesday: Junior high, JV and varsity baseball at home against Northome at 4:30 p.m.

Thursday: Junior high and varsity baseball double header in Walker at 3:30 p.m. and varsity track in Walker. Time to be announced.

Friday: Varsity track at BSU with time to be announced.

Community Ed classes

Leather Pouch class will be held April 13 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school commons. The fee is $10.

Fish Woodcarving will be held April 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school commons. The fee is $15.

4-Hour AARP Defensive Driving Class will be held April 27 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. The fee is $14, payable to AARP and $2 payable to Community Ed. The class will be held in the high school library. Please call 835-5241 to register for the class.

Live Folk Music and Son Sharing Workshop will be held April 26 at 7 p.m. in the multi-purpose room.

Indoor walking is held Tuesdays-Fridays when school is in session from 6:30-7:30 a.m. and 5:30-9 p.m.

Wednesday Night Volleyball is held Wednesdays through April from 7-9 p.m. The cost is $3 per night and is open for anyone 16 years or older.

TUESDAY, April 12 - BBQ rib patty on a bun, hash browns, California blend vegetables, peaches, milk.

WEDNESDAY, April 13 - Chicken noodle soup, crackers, peanut butter and jelly or egg salad sandwich, fresh fruit, milk.

THURSDAY, April 14 - Hamburger gravy, mashed potatoes, corn, dinner roll, dessert, milk.

FRIDAY, April 15 - Cheese pizza, tuna salad or peanut butter and jelly sandwich, raspberry sherbet, milk.

Students pass exam

Congratulations goes to three students in Kelliher High School for taking and passing the Microsoft Office Specialist Certification exam. They are now MOS Certified in MS Word 2007.

The three students are Johanna Weidenborner, 10th grade; Kisha Heck, 11th grade and Tim Franks, 11th grade. They have been preparing for this test in their computer applications class at Kelliher High. Kisha is daughter of Tom and Connie Heck, Kelliher, Tim is son of Mike Reese and Sherry Franks, Kelliher and Johanna Weidenborner is the daughter of Bruce Weidenborner of Kelliher and Staci Robertson of St. Cloud.

Community Ed classes

Aerobics are held each Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the Old School Center gym and is free.

There is open gym every Sunday from 3-5 p.m. in the Kelliher School gym. The fee is $1 per person or $5 per family.

About Students

Jamie Magoon of Blackduck, has been named recipient of a $1,000 Maverick Scholarship from Minnesota State University, Mankato for the 2011-2012 academic school year.

She is the daughter of Scott and Jackie Magoon of Blackduck.
