Schmidt, Dickinson named Bemidji High School football MVPs

BEMIDJI – Brady Schmidt was named the Most Dedicated Player and the Offensive Most Valuable Player and shared the Ray Kavanagh Award with Dylan Dickinson which is given to the most physical player. The team awards were announced at the annual Bemidji High School football team banquet. Schmidt was also honored for being named to the Associated Press All-State Honorable Mention team and for being an All-Section 7-5A selection. Also earning All-Section 7-5A honors were Dickinson, James Hendricks, Tanner Boes, Lucas Goins, Richard Seado and Pat Voss. Named to the section’s honorable mention team were Carson Hogan, Billy Deer, Hunter Weidenborner, Alex Johnson, Jaylen Ingalls, Alex Fenson, Jeremiah Huseby, Troy Sauceda, Aaron Bofferding, Connor McNallan, Nick Hovila, Nick Gubbels and Sam Bruestle. Deer was named the team’s Lineman of the Year, Al Johnson and Huseby were honored as the Most improved, Seado and McNallan were the Special Teams Players of the Year, Dickinson was the Defensive MVP and Wylli Tschudi was named the Impact Player of the Year. The Coaches Award, which is named after Red Wilson, was given to Gubbels. The Lumberjack Award for contributions to the football program was given to the Wes Hegna family.
