Sanford Center hosts bridal photo shoot, wedding event
Bemidji Minnesota P.O. Box 455 56619

BEMIDJI -- The Sanford Center in Bemidji teamed up with local businesses for a bridal photo shoot March 20.

The Styled Wedding Event featured local businesses that cater to weddings, meetings, conventions and other events.

The team of bridal-related businesses collaborated to showcase the Sanford Center as one of Bemidji's bridal venues, as well as local wedding-related businesses. The photo shoot also included bride and groom formal attire from Formalities. Photos of the Styled Wedding Event will be featured at the Sanford Center.

"My intent was to give the local businesses an opportunity to showcase their talent to our potential customers, such as brides, business meeting planners and convention planners," said Georgette Bloom, convention sales manager at the Sanford Center. "In return, we would build strong relationships with local vendors to create referrals in Bemidji."

Businesses involved in the event were Events by Design, Purrington Photography, Althea's Cakery, Amity Graphics, KD Floral, Jody's Salon and Mary Kay Cosmetics with Beth Green.

"It's great to work with other bridal businesses in Bemidji so we can refer potential clients to each other and keep it local to Bemidji," said Kristen Purrington of Purrington Photography.

Event stylists Jodi Tower and Elise Dokken decorated one of the meeting rooms at the Sanford Center. Events by Design styled the venue with a modern take on elegance and fashion.

"We utilize our knowledge and training of interiors to incorporate structure, architecture, color, texture and lighting into every project," Tower said.

"Every venue has potential, some are just more obvious than others," Dokken added as she balanced on a chair to put the final peacock feather into a vase.

Photos from the event will be submitted to bridal magazines published in Minnesota, such as The Knot, Northwoods Wedding and Minnesota Bride.
