To ensure our patient's rest and total recuperation, we have set certain guidelines.

E Sanford Bemidji Medical Center Visiting Hours: 11 a.m.-8 p.m.

E Exceptions may be made after 8 p.m. for the immediate family of critically ill or childbirth patients. In these cases, visitors must register at the west entrance and receive a visitor's badge.

E Each patient has the right to request no visitors.

E Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

E Smoking is prohibited on all Sanford Health of Northern Minnesota properties, including the hospital.

Chief Operating Officer Joy Johnson said, "We want to strike the right balance between involving family and caregivers, and allowing patients to keep in contact with friends and relatives, but also providing patients with a safe, hygienic, clean, comfortable, and peaceful environment in which to receive their treatment and recover."

Sanford Bemidji Medical Center asks that you please refrain from coming to the hospital to visit patients if you have any sign of a cold or flu such as temperature greater than 100 degrees, cough, body aches, and/or headache. Patients are typically very susceptible and at great risk for complications when exposed to these respiratory viruses.

For more information about the flu, call the Minnesota State FluLine at 866-259-4655.
