Child, father die after kayak overturns on Hart Lake in Hubbard County

Sandra Lea (Spragg) DeWitt, 59, of Walker, died unexpectedly Thursday, April 16, 2009, at Innovis Hospital in Fargo, N.D.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hope Lutheran Church in Walker. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. today at Dennis Funeral Home in Walker and one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walker.

Dennis Funeral Home of Walker assisted the family with arrangements.

She was born April 20, 1949, to Wesley Spragg and Dorothy (Buck) Spragg in Bemidji. She grew up and went to school in Eveleth, Minn.

She had been a resident of Walker for the past 38 years and a member of Hope Lutheran Church. She enjoyed being outdoors and tending to her flower gardens at her Lake May home. She also enjoyed making arts and crafts for her children, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed music and poetry and opening her door to extend a helping hand to others.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Lisa) Krivich of Elk River, Mark (Connie) Krivich of Brainerd, Brian Krivich of Walker and Lorrie (Jeff Robbins) DeWitt of Akeley; six grandchildren; brothers, Wayne and Kerry Spragg; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials are preferred to the Brian Krivich Trust Fund at First National Bank of Walker.
