Sandra Kay (Olson) Gilleran, of Mount Vernon, Ore., formerly of Bemidji and Lake George, died in an automobile accident Saturday, Feb. 14, 2009, near Santiam Pass, Ore.
A memorial service will be held, at a later date, at Driskill Funeral Home in John Day, Ore.
She was born June 12, 1947, to George and Florence (Moberg) Olson in Bemidji. She enjoyed cooking, cleaning and gardening. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in John Day and was employed by Grant County.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Leo Gilleran; sons, Brian (Jenny) Crist of Silverton, Ore., and Darin (Joyce) Crist of Lafayette, Ore.; daughters, Angela Gilleran of Lincoln City, Ore., and Lori (David) Green of Texas; sisters, Mary Duerksen of Sanger, Calif., and Rena Soper of Albert Lea, Minn.; brother, George Buringa of Spokane, Wash.; three sister-in-laws and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Sid Olson; step-brothers, Ralph and Ted Buringa; mother and father; and her step-mother, Johanna Olson.
