Sandy was born December 7, 1962 in Bemidji, Minnesota to Wayne and Eilene (Haugen) Floura. She grew up in Bemidji and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1981. After graduating from Bemidji State University in 1986, Sandy married the love of her life, John (Jack) Freer in 1987, and moved to Prior Lake, Minnesota, where she taught second grade at Falcon Ridge and Eagle View Elementary Schools for 28 years.

Sandy enjoyed being a mother to her daughter, Bailey, and a second mother to her nieces and nephews who cherished her. She enjoyed hopping on the back of Jack's motorcycle for a ride to one of her favorite burger joints. She was at her happiest wrapped up in a blanket on her couch, eating Jack's cookie dough with her four dogs begging, and reading a good book. Every chance she got, Sandy traveled to her family's favorite spot: Disney World. She valued the opportunities to share Disney with her great-nieces and nephews, and to watch the magic shine in their eyes. She looked forward to continuing her unending support for Bailey by visiting her in Disney this summer as she begins her engineering internship. For years, Sandy and her family have wished upon a star at Disney; now, she is a star in the sky for her family to wish upon.

Left to honor Sandy's life and mourn the death is her husband, Jack; daughter, Bailey; mother, Ike Floura, sister, Jean (Clark) Chambers; brother, Tom (Lorie) Floura; 7 nieces and nephews, 4 great-nieces and nephews; other loving relatives and devoted friends, especially her New Prague School family. Preceded in death and there to welcome her home is her father, Wayne Floura and dog, Chloe.
