Ruth Irene (Storlie) Moeskau, 84, of Joplin, Mo., formerly of Bemidji, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008, in Joplin after a brief illness.
A memorial service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church in Joplin and burial will be alongside her husband at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Mo.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1923, to Arne and Margit (Rustan) Storlie in Bemidji. After high school graduation in 1941, she worked at various places in Bemidji including Security State Bank, Northern National Bank and the Social Security Office. On Aug. 6, 1948, she married to Elwood Moeskau, also of Bemidji. They lived in various cities during their 59 years of marriage, settling in Joplin in 1965 where they have lived ever since. She especially enjoyed spending time with family. This past summer she along with her two daughters, two granddaughters and two great-granddaughters came to Bemidji to visit family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Carol (Mike) Hunt of Springfield, Mo., Jim (Jeannie) Moeskau of Branson, Mo., and Bette (Jim) Schoeberl of Joplin; five grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; brother-in-law; and long time family friend, Dorothy Boe of Bemidji; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her by her husband on Sept. 25, 2007; parents; siblings, Bertha (1956), Oscar (1957) and Palmer (1992).
