Senior Ryan Rude and junior Carey Woods shared the Most Valuable Player award for the 2010-11 Bemidji boys basketball team.

The honor, as voted on by the players, was announced at this week's season-ending dinner.

Woods was Bemidji's top offensive weapon as he led the Jacks in scoring (25.8 points per game) was second in steals, second in rebounds and third in assists. Woods also connected on 49 percent of his field goal attempts.

Rude was the team-leader in steals (81) and assists (114), was second in scoring and third in rebounding.

"Over the past four years Ryan has been a tremendous leader for us through his hard work and positive attitude," BHS coach Jeff Brown said. "We will miss him a great deal next year."

Grant Richardson's 203 rebounds represented a team high while Mitch Brown led the Lumberjacks in free throw percentage (79 percent) and Cody Rutledge had the best field goal percentage (54 percent).

Mitch Brown also was honored as the team's Most Improved Player while Rude was named the Defensive Player of the Year and Woods the Offensive Player of the Year.

Earning letters for the Bemidji boys basketball team were:

Seniors: Ryan Rude, Grant Richardson, Harley Kroening, Ben Hengel, Seth Vonasek;

Juniors: Mitch Brown, Cody Rutledge, Carey Woods, Zach Declusin, J.C. Cervenka.
