RSVP welcomes new coordinator, new office
BEMIDJI – Beltrami County RSVP has a new office and a new program coordinator.
The Beltrami County RSVP/America Reads Program office relocated in February from the Senior Activity Center to an office within the Bemidji Community Food Shelf, 1260 Industrial Park Drive SE.
Additionally, the program, which coordinates volunteer opportunities for older Americans, also has a new program coordinator: Jane Furuseth started March 4.
Furuseth worked with volunteer mentors in the Kinship Partners Program at the Hackensack-Onigum-Walker-Akeley Family Center for the last 14 years.
RSVP currently has 465 volunteers in Beltrami County, who contributed 45,913 hours of service in 2012.
Furuseth welcomes the chance to visit with any current or prospective volunteers interested in meeting her. The America Reads Program is wrapping up for this school year but she said she would begin recruiting volunteers for next school year in August.
Furuseth can be contacted by phone at 766-9494 or email to firstname.lastname@example.org. She also is in the office from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays.
