Rosalia A. Koppang, 93, of Pinewood, died Friday, Nov. 16, 2007, at the Greensview Health Care Center in Bagley.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Solway Cemetery in Lammers Township, Beltrami County with Rev. Dave Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Solway Cemetery.
The Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home in Bemidji assisted the family with arrangements.
She was born Sept. 4, 1914, to Ole and Johanna (Anderson) Sime in Solway. She grew up and attended school in Solway. She graduated from Bemidji High School in 1933. She married John Clemmer May 31, 1941, in Glendive, Mont. She had lived in Pinewood since she was 26 years old. She married Albert Koppang May 17, 1953, in Pinewood, where she was a housewife and worked on the farm.
She worked as an observer for the Department of Natural Resources in the Pinewood Fire Tower from 1971-1992.
She and Albert made numerous trips to Norway. She was part of the ribbon cutting ceremony at the Beltrami County Fairgrounds for the Pinewood Fire Tower dedication in 2004.
She made hundreds of quilts over the years. She also collected salt and pepper shakers and had more than 700 sets. She was known for her lefse, flat bread and rosettes.
She and her husband were members of the Solway Bible Chapel.
She is survived by a nephew; niece; and many nieces and nephews by marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; brothers, Roy, Kenneth and Lee; sisters, Doris and Gertrude; one nephew and one aunt.
Memorials are preferred to Solway Bible Chapel.
