Students and staff send teams off in style

Jill Cease, nurse practitioner, MS, CNP, from Scenic River Healthcare Services viewed, critiqued and gave pointers to the Crazy Eights robotics team before their competition at state. This group researched osteoporosis. Cease also spoke with the young Robotic Scientists team about their presentation on tooth decay.

The students brought home medals from the competition, but did not place high enough to win the trophies this year. They were plagued with illness and also had to split time with C-team basketball. Even at the competition, several members were still under the weather but participated as best they could.

As the day went on, both teams improved their robot runs and were able to win their opening head-to-head rounds. Both teams scored well in each of the judging categories but did not make the finals.
