Robert Jeffrey Rosson, 33, of Bemidji, formerly of Blackduck, died unexpectedly Sunday, March 1, 2009.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Northome School with the Rev. Roy Johnson officiating. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Blackduck, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and one hour prior to the service at the school. A graveside service will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Northome.
He was born on March 31, 1975, to Dennis and Ellen (Aamot) Rosson in the Naval Hospital in Agana, Guam. The family lived in Rapid City, S.D., from 1976-1981, Abilene, Texas, from 1981-1986 and Floresville, Texas, from 1986-1991. In 1991, the family settled in Blackduck, where he attended high school. He graduated from Wadena Technical College in 1998 with an electrician's license. He married Jamie Heald July 2, 2005, in Northome. They settled in Bemidji where he worked as an electrician for Ainsworth. On Oct. 16, 2006, their daughter Abigail Jody was born. His wife is expecting their second child in early May. He was an avid fisherman and loved the time they spent as a family at the cabin on Penassee Island in Lake of the Woods.
He is survived by his wife and daughter; father of Blackduck; sister, Lisa (Ed) Michael of Apopka, Fla.; paternal grandparents, James and Reba Rosson of Corpus Christi, Texas; a niece and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandparents, Art and Martha Aamot and an aunt.
