Riedel selected for marathon role

BEMIDJI – The Bemidji Blue Ox Marathon board of directors has selected Aaron Riedel as its president.

The inaugural event is scheduled for Oct. 12. A 26.2-mile marathon, 13.1-mile half marathon, 3.1-mile 5K and a children’s race are planned.

The board selected Riedel during its meeting Tuesday.

Riedel of Bemidji is a financial planner. He spearheaded the initial meeting for planning the marathon last year and has worked on numerous aspects of the race.
