Long time Roseville resident, age 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 2, 2013. Loving husband of Virginia (Ginny) with whom he shared 64 years of wonderful marriage. Together they raised 6 sons, Tom (Paulette), Jerry (Mary), Mark, Jim, Joe (Barbara), and Keith (Victoria). Also survived by 11 grandchildren, Scott, Rebecca, Ryan, Kathleen, Joseph, Nicholas, Kristina, Thomas, Daniel, Abigail, and David; and many great grandchildren. Also survived by brothers, Bob(Jeanette) and Joe (Jane); and sister, Margaret. Preceded in death by brothers, Chris (Dolores) and Dan (Pat). Dick was born in Gildford, Montana on March 10, 1919 to Nicholas and Marguerite Welle. He was a U.S. Navy pilot in WWII, Pacific Theater. He married Ginny in 1949 and they built their home in Roseville in 1953, just down the street from St. Rose of Lima Parish. They have remained members of the church for the 60 years since. Dick has been a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus. He spent most of his working life in the plumbing and heating business. Dick loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and golf. He was an ardent Vikings and Twins fan. Dick and Ginny had a life of fun and adventure with their Belmont Lane gang, the Gull Lake crew, and many other friends. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM Friday, November 8th at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (2048 N. Hamline Ave., Roseville) with a visitation 1 hour prior. Interment Roselawn Cemetery.
