Reward increased in search for missing Staples man

The reward in the ongoing search for an 82-year-old Staples man has been raised in hopes new tips will be received regarding his whereabouts.

According to a press release from the Cass County Sheriff's Office:

Peter Acherman, who walks with a cane, was last seen July 24, 2009, in the Staples-Motley area. His vehicle was located the next day on a minimum maintenance road in Becker Township in Cass County.

A reward is offered up to $20,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the people responsible for his disappearance, if that disappearance is determined to be the result of foul play.

The reward will remain in effect until Sept. 15.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Cass County Sheriff's Office at 1-800-450-2677.
