I was recently in Bemidji for the funeral of my grandmother, Bernadette Jorstad. Family and friends gathered to celebrate her life and enjoy some time together.
During the visit, I had the time to take my young sons to Cameron Park. My parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and I spent much time together there during annual visits to Bemidji and it is the place of some of my happiest memories with my family.
Imagine my surprise when we pulled up to a brand new playground! My young sons were thrilled, blissfully unaware that they are the fourth generation of our family to enjoy Cameron Park. We had a terrific time making some of our own family memories as they enjoyed the beautiful playground on the lake.
Thank you, citizens of Bemidji, for taking such pride in your lovely city. Every time I visit, I'm impressed and my last visit gives me hope that my sons will one day take their children to Cameron Park to create their own happy family reunion.
