Response filed to TV anchorwoman lawsuit
FARGO, N.D. -- The parent company for two Fargo TV stations is rejecting claims of gender and age discrimination by a former news anchorwoman.
Fifty-year-old Robin Huebner is suing Hoak Media, the parent for KXJB and KVLY. She resigned last October after more than 20 years, following a decision to replace her on the 5 p.m. and 10 p.m. newscasts with a 26-year-old female co-anchor.
The Forum newspaper reports that attorneys for Hoak Media have filed a response to the lawsuit in federal court, asserting that Huebner's own decisions led her down the path to her resignation.
Huebner is seeking more than $75,000 in damages. Hoak Media wants a judge to dismiss her complaint and make her pay for such costs as attorney fees.
