Red Lake sets theme for Aki Giizhigad

RED LAKE - "Healthy Habitats and Healthy Homes" is this year's Aki Giizhigad (Earth Day) events theme Thursday.

Events will begin with an opening address at 11 a.m. and activities through 4 p.m. All events will be at the Seven Clans Casino Events Center.

Learning about arsenic in drinking water and radon in homes are among many presentations to be held throughout the day. Activities and services include plastic bag recycling, tire pressure checks, hazardous waste disposal, booths related to the event's theme and prize drawings.

The event is hosted by the Red Lake DNR Environmental Program.
