Red Lake Nation Boys and Girls Club: Reynolds is Youth of the Year
Bemidji Minnesota P.O. Box 455 56619

Kaylee Reynolds has been named Youth of the Year for the Red Lake Nation Boys and Girls Club.

Reynolds, 15, was recognized for her sound character, leadership skills and willingness to give back to the community.

She will compete against other Boys & Girls Club members for the Minnesota Youth of the Year title and a $1,000 college scholarship from Tupperware Brands Corporation.

Being named Youth of the Year is the highest honor given by Boys & Girls Clubs. As the club's premier youth recognition program, Youth of the Year recognizes outstanding contributions to a member's family, school, community and Boys & Girls Club, as well as overcoming personal challenges and obstacles.

Youth of the Year encourages club members to reach their full potential by achieving academic success, leading healthy lifestyles and contributing to their communities.

"Kaylee will represent our club well, as she is an outstanding member," said Dawn Huseby, executive director of the Red Lake Nation Boys & Girls Club.

Reynolds is a sophomore and a "B" honor roll student at Red Lake High School. She has been a Red Lake Nation Boys & Girls Club member for four years and has been doing volunteer work for one year at the club, where she is a role model to younger club members.

Reynolds enjoys math and writing and has begun looking at colleges that will suit her talents and interests.

If Reynolds wins at the state competition, she will compete for the title of Midwest Region Youth of the Year and an additional $10,000 scholarship from Tupperware, the recognition program's national sponsor. Five regional winners will advance to Washington, D.C., in September to compete for the national title.
