Red Lake girls win opener over Warroad

RED LAKE -Averi Holthusen scored a team-high 30 points as the Red Lake girls basketball team opened its season with a solid win over Warroad Tuesday.

The Warriors, who improve to 1-0 on the season, led Warroad 35-32 at halftime before outscoring them 30-25 to close out the game.

Grace White added 13 points while Sarah Mountain had 12 andTatianna Mcclain 10.

Up next for Red Lake is Hill City on Thursday night. Hill City lost its opener to Chisholm, 75-50.
