Randolph Buck

Randolph V. "Randy" Vernon Buck, 93, of Frazee, died on Monday, April 27, 2009 at St. Mary's Regional Health Center in Detroit Lakes.

Randolph Vernon Buck was born to Lars and Tekla Buck on Oct. 18, 1915 in Pelican Rapids. He was baptized and confirmed in Pelican Valley Church. He attended school in Pelican Rapid,s and then moved to Deer Creek for a short time. Randy served in the U.S. Army for four years during World War II. He married Luella (Albright) Vestal in 1947 and joined St. Paul's Lutheran Church-Loon Lake shortly thereafter. He was employed in the fisheries section at the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources for 25 years, until he retired in 1980.

Surviving Randy are his his stepdaughter, Marilyn (James) McEntire; three nieces, one nephew and many cousins. Preceding him in death were his wife, Luella (Albright) Vestal, and his parents, Lars and Tekla Buck.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, May 1 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church-Loon Lake, Vergas, with the Rev. Robert Hinckley officiating. Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery-Loon Lake.
