Ranch Sorting National Championship finals to be held
Battle River Arena near Kelliher will be be the site of the Ranch Sorting National Championship sanctioned Minnesota state finals Sept. 24.
RSNC was formally established in the spring of 2007 by horse enthusiasts who competed and participated in different equine events and recognized its potential within the equine industry.
Any person that has a well broke/trained horse and rides can be competitive in the RSNC ranch sorting. The RSNC ninr-point rating system, combined with the handicapping system, levels the playing field or should we say, the arena. All participants have a chance to win.
The handicapping system encourages the teaming of skilled sorters with the less-experienced partners while the Masters' classes feed the appetite of the mature competitor. Beginners, Youth and Rookies get a piece of the spotlight as well. There is literally something for everyone and anyone can take home a check!
Anyone can come to the state finals and compete/ride for the $600 added day money. However; only those who have attended five shows are eligible for prizes and a chance for the full $1,200 added money. Entry fees are $18 per rider/entry with a 50 percent payback.
The great sport of ranch sorting is exploding all across the US. There are now 10,000 RSNC members with over 400 shows booked for the season. The RSNC national finals held in July is expected to have 5,000 teams in 2012 and everyone is invited. Contact Jeff or Dianna Thurlow at 647-8557 for more information
