Ralph Eugene Bill
Ralph Eugene Bill was born in Chicago, IL to parents Ralph J. and Ethel (nee Radtke). The eldest son of four boys, he joined the Navy in 1959 after graduating from York High School in Elmhurst, IL. He met the love of his life, Nancy (nee Green), on a blind date which led to a marriage that would endure 51 years. They welcomed into their world Daughter Cindy in 1963 and Son David in 1967. In 1967 he began his journey to becoming a Master Carpenter. For the next 46 years this would be what defined him. Some of the projects he worked on included Chicago landmarks such as the John Hancock Tower, Standard Oil Building, Sears Tower, Water Tower Place, and the McCormick Place. In 1977, after enjoying several family fishing trips to northern Minnesota, the family moved to Bemidji, MN. Ralph was known for whistling his favorite tunes whenever in Bemidji; it was his sanctuary. He had many special talents working with his hands and truly was known as a master "craftsman".
Survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy K. Bill, Daughter Cindy Ecklund (Bruce), Granddaughter Laurin Ecklund, Son David Bill (Susan), Grandson Austin, Granddaughter Hailey, Brothers Dick, Joseph, and Tom ("Tommer"), Lifetime Friend and Partner-in-Crime, Robert (Bob) Forte, many loving In-Laws, Cousins and many caring Friends.
Nothing pleased Ralph more than spending time with his family, especially his treasured Grandchildren. Ralph's presence was unforgettable and he will be deeply missed by all.
