The Region 2 Arts Council (R2AC) will offer several new grant opportunities to artists, arts organizations, non-profits, schools and local governments. These grants are a result of the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage funds as appropriated by the Minnesota State Legislature with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on Nov. 4, 2008. The passage of the Clean Water, Lands and Legacy Amendment will greatly enhance arts funding for the next 25 years in the State of Minnesota.
R2AC convened listening sessions and needs assessment surveys throughout the region to help determine constituent needs. Based on this input, R2AC Board planning sessions created new programs for the dissemination of these funds.
The four new Arts and Cultural Heritage grants offer a wide range of opportunities for arts activities in Region 2. Collaborative projects among organizations, schools, artists and or local governments are encouraged and building healthy communities that value the arts.
The grants include:

The Arts Education grant can be used to support lifelong learning in the arts and the Arts and Cultural Heritage grants can be used to support events and activities that represent regional and statewide ethnic and cultural arts traditions.
