Public invited to free "People of the North" community panel
The public is invited to a panel discussion titled "People of the North."
The free event is sponsored by the ACLU-MN, Greater Minnesota Racial Justice Project North in conjunction with the Organizing Apprenticeship Project's visit to Beltrami and Cass Counties.
The panel will consist of Anishinaabe people living both on and off reservation, young and old, from across different interests and lived experiences.
The event will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at the Rail River Folk School, 303 Railroad St. NW, Bemidji.
The Organizing Apprenticeship Project's strategy is to advance organizing and racial justice leadership work by building skills and relationships between organizers and community leaders. Currently, 22 apprentices are working in social justice organizations across the state of Minnesota.
Students and OAP staff will travel to the area March 27-28 to learn about life in northern Minnesota and address racial justice issues in our communities
