Public can comment on Highway 2 project from Cass Lake to Deer River
BEMIDJI -- The public is invited to comment on the draft Environmental Assessment Worksheet for the U.S. Highway 2 passing lane project from Cass Lake to Deer River.
The project involves constructing improvements at 16 locations to provide four-lane passing sections, a bypass lane and turn lanes. The project also includes clearing trees within the safety clear zone and tree thinning in the three passing lane areas.
The comment period for this project will be open through June 11. The Environmental Assessment Worksheet which assesses the potential impacts of the project,will be available in hard copy at the following locations: Bemidji City Hall, 317 Fourth St. NW; Bemidji Public Library, 509 America Ave. NW; Cass Lake City Hall, 330 Second St. NW in Cass Lake; Deer River City Hall, 60 Second St. NE in Deer River and Forest Service, Chippewa National Forest Supervisor, 200 Ash Ave. NW in Cass Lake.
