BLACKDUCK – Police continue to ask for the public’s help in locating a man who robbed a hotel at gunpoint Monday night.

Beltrami County Sheriff Phil Hodapp called the target of the robbery, AmericInn, 81 Brandl Drive Northwest, an “odd target” for the relative lack of cash held there.

The suspect, described as a man in his early 20s, and about 6-feet-tall, entered the motel and demanded cash, while brandishing a black pistol, Hodapp said.

The man received less than $500 from an employee of the motel, according to Hodapp, and fled west toward the American Legion.

Deputies have pursued several leads since Monday night, but none have resulted in a positive identification of the suspect, Hodapp said.
