The Senior Center has five new board members.

We would like to welcome, Ralph Brose, David Knudson, Winnie Pelawa, Rick Kohler and Clarice Amundson to the board. We would also like to thank outgoing board members Dorothy Jorgensen, Donna Wilson and Angel Krigbaum for their dedicated service on the Board.

Our current officers are Helen Russell, president; Tony Nicholson, vice president; Yvonne Barry, treasurer; and David Knutson, secretary. Also on the board are Yvonne Wolfe and Richard Robinson.

We would like to thank the Civil Air Patrol, Carol St. John, LTC (R), and all the volunteers for helping with our Veterans Tribute in honor of our veterans.

The Senior Center will be closed Dec. 24 and 25 for Christmas and December 31 and Jan. 1 for the New Year’s holiday.

Gift wrapping

The Senior Center will be offering our gift-wrapping service at the Paul Bunyan Mall from Dec. 14-24. We will be located in the west corridor, by the old Kmart. We will gift wrap items from any store. Let us give your gifts that beautiful personal touch.

Christmas Light Tour

The Paul Bunyan Senior Activity Center will take a tour of Bemidji’s Christmas lights, courtesy of Bemidji Bus Line, from 6:30 to about 8 p.m. Dec. 19.

Treats will be served after the tour at the Senior Center.

You must sign up at the front desk at the Senior Center by Friday, and limited space is available. Be sure to sign up early. Free-will donation is appreciated.

Enjoy a relaxing ride and look at the beautiful twinkling Christmas lights of the season.

Senior Creations Gift shop

Are you looking for a handmade Christmas gift? Be sure to stop at the Senior Creations Gift Shop, located in the Senior Center, where you can find Christmas and greeting cards, quilts, baby items, wooden items, jewelry, Christmas decorations, kitchen linens, gag gifts and much more. The gift shop is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8-10:30 a.m. the second Saturday of each month.
